They will notice your every mood and blame it on the withdrawals, and they will be on the “smell out” for any whiffs of smoke. You can bet if you hide out anywhere for a quick cigarette someone will find out and take great pleasure in telling everyone you caved in.

When you are quitting smoking, don’t ever forget that people who don’t smoke can smell it a mile away. You can’t sneak a cigarette in the car on the way to work, then spray deodorant and chew a mint and think that will cover you. The excuse that someone was smoking on the train will also breed doubt, as will the excuse that you were out in the same jacket the previous night at a smoky bar. Non-smokers know you may smell a bit smoky from being around cigarette smokers, but not as strong as someone who smokes themselves, especially in a confined space. It will be on your breath, your clothes and the guilty look on your face as well. It will be blatantly obvious to anyone who does not smoke what you have been doing.
